The five and seven year olds had a blast. My four-year-old granddaughter wasn't able to do it nor was the 12-year-old. Forrest Ranger Pursuit is close by and involves driving small battery-powered cars around a track. The line moves slowly and can get very long, so visit early. It's a small obstacle course room with laser lights you can set to varying degrees of difficulty. There are a few fun things in here, but the highlight for most children is the laser challenge. Follow this with the Ninjago Ninja Training Camp. It's a cute show with some water sprinkling, wind, and snow. For those who have been to Disney or Universal, this ride might seem a bit of a downgrade, but the kids love to shoot the skeletons, spiders, and ogres with their laser guns to save the princess.įollow this with the 4D theater Lego Adventure. You want to hit the places that get crowded first. Kids will want to go straight for the play zone in the center of the building, but don't let them just yet. My recommendation is to traverse the indoor park counterclockwise starting at your right. All the kids (and a few adults) get a sample Lego brick at the exit. It's really a twisting hallway where child volunteers help run the "machines" to make Lego bricks. You enter the indoor park through the Legoland factory. If you get in later in the day, it is much more crowded. We get there at 9:30am and wait in the line. Also, you can reserve the earliest opening time, usually 10am. They only allow a certain number of people to enter at a time. Often if you arrive in person, no tickets are available. There are no discounts when you reserve online, but it is well worth it. Whatever day you choose, keep in mind the first rule of any theme park - arrive early! I reserve my tickets in advance online. I also recommend visiting on a weekday if you can swing that. The kids love Pirate Beach-the outdoor splash area. Second, the Grapevine Legoland is indoor and serves as a good place to get away from the summer Texas heat. First, during the school year, there are often field trips for elementary school and daycare kids that quickly crowd the place. We prefer to visit Legoland during the summer months for a couple of reasons. Legoland is on the left when you enter the mall doors. We always park at the AMC Theater and enter there. However immediately after I was told this, two other groups walked up and were allowed too exit with no issues. When I cane the the hate to leave with my children I was told that we could not exit because there was a lost child, another safety measure I am completely ok with. The best part of the trip was leaving and even that raised issues. I am not a large person and was very cramped. Two of the three rides there is to choose from required my children to ride with an adult, which would be fine, if the rides were made to accommodate adults. The only thing that we did not have to wait in long cramped lines for was the play area, which is about the same as the likes of macdonalds or similar fast food restaurant. There was not as much for the kids to do as I had hoped and I was very disappointed by the size of the facility. After the intro everyone is released into the facility and any guidance that there was stopped there. It was so crowded that my children couldn't even see what was happening. When we finally reached the front of the line we were shoved in a room for their introduction to legoland. The employees were all very rude and there seemed to be no communication or organization, just complete chaos. We were then put in a very long line where we had to wait for more than an hour. When we arrived we did not know where to go so we asked an associate and explained that we had preordered our tickets. It states online that when you preorder your tickets you are guaranteed expedited entry during your timeslot as they only sell a certain number of tickets per time. Online you are required to purchase tickets for a certain time slot. I purchased tickets online to avoid the crowds waiting for tickets purchased same day. After doing some research online I determined that out looked like a good family outing for him and my other children aged 5 and 7. My son wanted to visit Lego land for his 10 birthday.
